i'm in my last week of work - almost across the finish line.

my music listening has been just about as scattered as my brain this month.

i'm in between fast paced tempo to LOCK in, and slow paced tempo to COOL it.

my main genre of choice is always ~hip hop, but i love to appreciate the music hip hop beats sample from. [and even then, those old samples derive from even older music]

with that said - this month, i have to give it to...

ree

this instrumental of Deixa was released in 1966

it gives a good balance of slow & upbeat

if this song is familiar to you, then you've probs heard Nujabes sampling it

the instrumental of this alone is SOLID 10/10

but i fuck with the energy Shing02 brings to the track

if there's any time period & place i could go back to and live in ONLY for the sake of music...

it'd be the 1950's/1960's in Brazil. bossa nova is a genre i thoroughly enjoy for chill vibes. it makes me feel like i'm sitting in the sun on a hot day with an ice cold tea.

i could go on-and-on about music things, but think i'll keep these monthly posts short :)

this won't be the last time i post about bossa nova sound, i'm sure.
